Special reception for Alnwick festive lights volunteers
A big thank you to the Duchess of Northumberland for inviting Warren Access to drinks and canapes at Alnwick Castle as part of a reception to recognise the hard work of the Alnwick festive lights volunteers.
Derek Warren attended the event in January along with our Operations Manager, Paul Marshall, who said of the rece: ‘It was lovely to be invited by the Duchess to meet the other supporters and volunteers up at Alnwick Castle.
Derek made this commitment of support to Alnwick many, many years ago, and it still continues to this day. It’s a remarkable level of support, and it’s wonderful to see this recognised by the Duchess and the Alnwick Lights Committee.‘
Alnwick festive display
We’ve been providing the Alnwick Christmas Lights Committee with the equipment to assemble their original display for over 25 years now.
The light display, which costs almost £18,000, relies on money from fundraising and subscribers. It takes around six weeks to set up, but preparations start as early as May, with volunteers giving up their time to organise and repair the various displays before installing them around Alnwick in time for the switch-on at the end of November. They always do a fantastic job, and we are proud to be a part of it.
