Tyne Theatre Façade Revamp and Restoration
Background
Recently, the Tyne theatre & Opera house celebrated it’s 155th birthday in style after receiving a facelift! We’re so pleased to have been part of this project. The Tyne Theatre and Opera House is an important piece of local history. Built in 1867 by Joseph Cowen, it’s one of only ten Grade 1 listed buildings in the UK that date to the Victorian period.
The challenges
This was a challenging job due to the location on a busy road and a public path, as well as the canopy!
Our surveyor viewed this job and considered all factors such as:
- the height of the façade
- the height of the glass canopy
- traffic management
- power/phone lines, and street furniture
Our solution
With all of the information provided, our surveyor could recommend the best machine for the job. For this, we recommended the Isoli 23 Metre Truck Mounted Boom to ensure there was adequate height and outreach to access each part of the façade.
This job also required traffic management due to the location on a busy road, the machine was protected as were the public as the footpath was also temporarily closed.
The 23m Truck provided adequate height and outreach to complete this job safely and efficiently.
Testimonial
We’re overjoyed to have been a part of this work as we are big fans of local history, especially pieces of history as interesting as this place!
We spoke with Jo, the Tyne Theatre and Opera House Director, following this job and she said:
‘’Warren Access played a vital part in our recent facade revamp, which included a canopy clean, a lick of paint, new lighting and lovely new signage. We’re so pleased with the result and can’t thank them enough for helping the project run smoothly.’’
